Royal Captive: The Fate of Erynthia Book 3

My absolute favorite indie author series releases it's third installment this Friday, March 18th! Heather Frost is an author on the path to making things happen. I literally can see this series played out on the big screen and I have this gut feeling, someday it will be!

The first book is FREE in ebook format until tomorrow!

I will provide ALL links to everything Erynthia below, but first, my review!

This book! This ENTIRE series is my absolute favorite thing to read right now! I love it so much I made sure to sign up for the ARC when sign-ups began and have been one of the lucky ones to receive one! This series is one that after you finish reading you are left in with a book hangover. To the point it's hard to pickup another book, because you still feel like you're with these characters!

Frost's pen is magical and her stories surround me in a way that I feel like I am inside the book, surrounded by the characters and scenery and am a part of the story. So every time a book in this series ends, I am left feeling lost and just want to go back home to Erynthia so I know what is happening to these characters whom I love so entirely.

I will not put spoilers, so I will be vague with what I say because SO MANY questions are answered and just as many puzzling pieces are added, creating more questions. I am a bit long-winded when I review this series, so bare with me.

Let's start with the star of the cover, Mia. She's been captive in her Ryden cell for 9 years. Her friendship and love for Grayson growing with each year that passes. I have often wondered if she remembers who she is or if her memory had been suppressed for so long that she had no clue. I also formed my guess as to who she was and I won't say what my guess was or if I was even right, but I will say a lot is answered about Mia! What also captivates me about her story is the triangle she has found herself in. Two Ryden princes, raised to be evil and to not think twice about destroying whoever and whatever is around them and this girl has melted the ice from both their hearts. I love who she helps Grayson to be and how much she has helped Tyrell's heart feel for probably the first time in his life. Because of Mia, I absolutely love both of these princes.

Grayson - I am still team Grayson because that boy is an absolute hero! He is the one character that brings tears to my eyes because of how much he can love and how much he protects Mia. I am in absolute awe of what he puts himself through, and all for her. I must say, I do love him! Grayson is put through so many struggles in this book and watching him fight to be someone better than what his beginnings gave him were one of my favorite parts of this book. Bennick is my book boyfriend, but Grayson was THE star of this book and I was thrilled to see it because he deserves it!

Tyrell - My heart aches for him, because he finally understands love, but the person who showed him how to love is emotionally unavailable to him because her heart belongs to his brother. Though I do think Mia loves Tyrell, I believe it is in more of a sisterly way. She does care about him. One of my biggest hopes is that Tyrell finds happiness, he proves that you can overcome your past and what others may have molded you to be. I can honestly say I am attached to this character.

Desfan - Who doesn't love this mischievous serjan? He was an instant hit with myself and so many others in Royal Spy and he continued to make me smile in this book. Along with his side kick and best friend he once again finds himself scoffing in the face of danger. He seems so unconcerned for his own safety because he worries more about his kingdom and the people he is there to serve and protect. This makes him a very swoon worthy character. His kingdom was turned upside down in Royal Spy and Royal Captive we find him trying to rebuild his court, get to know his betrothed, Serene, search for ghosts, make friends with the most surprising people and begin to fall in love. I can't wait to see where book 4 takes him!

Serene and Imara: I found Serene's widow braid story to be one of my favorite parts of Royal Spy and we find out why she wears it in this book and I must say it both thrilled my heart and made it break all at the same time! Her cousin Imara was a breath of fresh air in the last book and is even more captivating in this one. I can't wait to see what happens to these cousins in the future. I hope they both get the love they deserve.

Clare - She is a scrappy one determined to prove herself and that she does! Without Clare, so many characters wouldn't have made it past the first book. Because of this she reminds a bit of Hermione in the HP series because we all know Harry and Ron wouldn't have gotten as far as they did without her! Instead of relying on books, Clare relies on her instincts and training which get her through some of the most excruciating times. The worst being watching Bennick get run through with a sword and having to carry that with her. Where she found her strength to keep going is a mystery but I am in awe of her.

Bennick - I see him so clearly in my mind and this man still makes my heart beat fast! When that sword went through him I died. Frost has written these characters so well, that I felt empty inside and literally grieved him. Bennick forever!

Venn & Vera - Their love was strong in previous books, but feeling their heartache for each other in this book I feel cemented that feeling for not only the readers but for the characters as well. Many questions surround this couple and I can't wait until the next book to see what happens!

Frost has written another spectacular book and I am forever her fan! I need Book 4 STAT!
